I woke up this morning
With you at my side
I kissed you softly
May this feeling never fadesHear my subtle whisper
Ringing through your ears
“We’ve finally made it
Better late than never”
We’ve been through these paths
Of violence and decay
We’ve fallen hard a few times
But here we had stayed
We lost fortunes lady
We had known poverty
But you never given up on me
I’m forever in debt for your loyalty
And we fought illnesses
And the scare of death
We won thanks to our faith
To stick together in those times
And the children, all grown up
They followed their path
We were fearful to set them free
But into kind souls they turn out to be
We imparted some wisdom
And we fought for freedom
Nothing has changed so far
But it’s better than falling from oppression
And there’s my solemn wish
From me to you
May our love can stand still
Through these lonesome miles
Of old age and loneliness
